Villarreal club football manager Unai Emery has confirmed that Samuel Chukwueze will not be involve in tonight’s Europa League final against Manchester United at the Gdansk Stadium in Poland.
This remains the most unpleasant news to the club and their fans as Chukwueze will not play a part when the Yellow Submarine file out against the Red Devils at Gdansk Stadium in Poland.
Chuwkueze was amongst the traveling party to Poland for the final but did not pass the fitness test conducted twenty-four hours before the final which automatically rule him out of the tie.
The Nigerian International who has been on the sideline since sustaining an injury to the rectus anterior during the first half of the goalless draw against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium missed four consecutive matches for the Yellow Submarine against Celta de Vigo, Real Valladolid, Sevilla and Real Madrid in the Spanish La Liga Santander.
Just couple of days ago, the Nigeria Football Federation had to excused him from the 24man players for next week Friday international friendly against Cameroon in Austria.
Addressing journalists at the pre-match press conference, Emery said : “Samu has not been able to recover in time from the injury, but Foyth is fully available”.
The 22-year-old Chukwueze had a separate training session as he was not involved in Tuesday evening full training with the rest of his teammates.
