Calls for support for both the NFF and Super Eagles as they battle Libya in Uyo

Founder/President of the leading football supporters club in Nigeria Super Eagles Supporters Club of Nigeria Prince Vincent Okumagba has hailed the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation NFF over the decision to allow coach Austin Eguavoen to continue in his role as the chief coach of Nigeria senior men national team the Super Eagles.
Recall that Eguavoen was appointed to lead the team on match days 1 & 2 of the AFCON 2025 qualifiers against the Squirrels of Benin Republic and the Amavubis of Rwanda in the interim.
With the search for a substantive coach for the team still very much on the card and the next AFCON qualifiers lurking around the corner the leadership of the NFF in a bid to not jeopardize the chances of the team and consolidate on the good start, the team recorded in their first two games of the qualifiers keyed into the recommendation of the Technical Sub-Committee to allow coach Eguavoen lead the team next month against Libya.
Speaking to our reporter Prince Okumagba commended the Nigeria Football Federation for the prompt action in allowing the technical crew headed by Austin Eguavoen to continue where they stopped some weeks back and called on every football stakeholder to support the team as they marched on in their quest for a spot in next year AFCON in Morocco.
” This is commendable from NFF, the way to go because time is not on our side. We have to start preparation in earnest and make sure there is no loophole.”
” It is our collective responsibility to stand by NFF and support the team so that everybody will be happy when the ticket is secured and kept in the bag.”
Nigeria will host Libya in Uyo at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Friday, October 11, and travel to play the same opponent on October 15 in Libya.
