The Chairman of the Super Eagles Supporters Club, Mr. Vincent Okumagba, has emphasized that the role of supporters clubs goes far beyond singing, drumming, and electrifying the stadium.

Mr. Okumagba made this assertion on Friday while delivering a lecture titled “The Power of Supporters Clubs: Enhancing the Matchday Experience” at the NPFL-organized pre-season seminar for media officers, supporters clubs, and Chief Security Officers in Lafia, Nasarawa State. He was represented at the event by his Vice Chairman, Mr. Peters Abraham.
According to Mr. Peters, supporters clubs are the “12th player” on the pitch, creating a lively atmosphere and radiant ambience in the stadium to the admiration of the team.

He noted that their duties also include ensuring the safety of spectators and safeguarding lives and property, which can be achieved through proper enlightenment and the right orientation.

Mr. Peters further stressed that fan engagement and building team spirit are key areas where supporters clubs can contribute if the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) is to align with global best practices.

While acknowledging the league body’s commitment to strengthening brand awareness and aligning with international standards, he urged that supporters clubs be accorded greater recognition as a means of encouragement to help them deliver on their responsibilities.

Chairman, Interim Management Committee of Nigeria Football and other Sports Supporters Group (NFSSG) Prince Vincent Okumagba has congratulated the Super Falcons for winning their 10th African title in the just concluded CAF WAFCON 2024 in Rabat, Morocco.
Okumagba praise the effort of the team for defying the odds to comeback into the game after going down 2 nill to the host nation in the first half.

“Congratulations to our dear Super Falcons for accomplishing the “Mission X” winning their 10th African title after fighting tooth and nail to subdue the Atlass Lionesses of Morocco in a very difficult game the whole world just witnessed. Kudos to the girls for not giving up when they were down chasing the game”.
“I am very much happy and joyous tonight on this historic achievement by the team. It was a really tension-soaked match but our girls gave their all which paid off in the end”.

This victory confirm Nigeria as a 10 time winners of the CAF African Women’s Cup of Nations.

Chairman, Interim Management Committee of Nigeria Football and other Sports Supporters Group (NFSSG) Prince Vincent Okumagba has sent goodwill messages to the Super Falcons ahead of their CAF WAFCON 2024 final showdown today against Morocco.
In a message convey to the team earlier today Prince Okumagba praise the girls for the resilience and dedication they have shown from the start of the competition till the final day and ask the girls to go all out to write their name’s in gold when they confront the Lionesses of Morocco this evening in Rabat.

“You have made us all proud with your performance so far and have shown the rest of Africa and the world at large the quality you’re made of, therefore, I urge you to keep your focus and determination as you go into the final game of the competition against the host nation.
“We (Nigeria Football and other Sports Supporters Group) believe in your ability and capacity just as you have demonstrated in your previous games. Nigerians at home and in diaspora will be rooting for you today and we believe the Mission X will be accomplished after the ninety minutes of regulation time.

Okumagba caution the team against complacency and demands 100% focus and urge them not to relent in their bid to clinch the most coveted trophy in women’s football in Africa

Nigeria will face off against Morocco (host) this evening and attempt to win her 10th African title in the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON 2024).

The supporters club Chairman was full of elation after seeing the Falcons navigate the minefield posed by the South Africans in an intense game that had the two teams playing cautiously to avoid mistakes that could lead to goals.
“Congratulations to the team and the technical staff for the victory against South Africa. It is a much desired result from Nigerians at home and in the diaspora”

The Super Falcons will now await the winner of the second semi final game between the Black Queens of Ghana and the Lionesses of Morroco to determine who they’ll meet in the final.

Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade says the team will fight hard to secure a place in the final of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The Justine Madugu’s side will take on Banyana Banyana of South Africa in their semi-final fixture at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium, Casablanca this evening.
The Super Falcons have impressed avid soccer fans and their supporters with their discipline: three group wins, four goals scored, none conceded, and a commanding 5-0 quarterfinal demolition of Zambia while holders South Africa have endured difficult hurdles in the competition.
After a 1-1 group draw with Tanzania, they edged Senegal on penalties (0-0, 4-1) in the quarterfinals, thanks to the brilliance of goalkeeper Andile Dlamini
The Super Falcons have a proud history of making it to the semi-finals of every WAFCON tournament.
Ajibade said it is always important for the team to play in the big games.
These are the kind of games we want to play,” Ajibade was quoted by CAFonline.
Getting to the semifinal shows the effort the team put into every game. We try to improve ourselves in each match.
We might have issues behind the scene, but we don’t let that get to us, we do our job. We are doing this for those girls aspiring to be here one day.



The Super Falcons are up for their 10th African title but first they have to navigate the hurdle posed by the yellow and green girls from the rainbow nation this evening in Casablanca. Kick off is slated for 5 pm.

Football is the world’s best means of communication. It is impartial and apolitical. It brings people together old or young, friends or foes, players or fans irrespective of their ethnic and religious background through supportership. Sometimes, it makes people happy and sometimes makes them sad either in terms of financial support or results after the ninety (90) minutes regulation period.

The national women’s football team of Nigeria are out there in Morocco making effort to have the country’s name in Gold without the presence of their number one fan and great supporter of football and other sports in the country the Nigeria Football and other Sports Supporters Group (NFSSG) led by the effervescent and forthright Chairman of the Interim Management Committee of the group Prince Vincent Okumagba.

The supports club have have done the necessary things and put everything into place yet no financial support to aid the seamless traveling of members of the club to Casablanca to support and cheer the Super Falcons to victory against their opponents.
A total of 200 members passports were submitted to the Moroccan Embassy while 80 of the passports have been issued visas.
A few members of the group led by Architect Olubunmi Komolafe Dickson, Chairman Kwara State Chapter of supporters club and assisted by Solomon Edem from Akwa Ibom State would be jetting out of the country this evening aboard an Air Maroc flight to Casablanca leading other members to mobilize support for the girls in their quarter final encounter against zambia.
The supporters club play a major role in football devoting their time, energy and resources to make themselves presence at every game venue involving Nigeria.

The National Sports Commission headed by the Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and the Director General Bukola Olapade should come to the aid of Nigeria Football and other Sports Supporters Club, provide funds to enable about Eighty (80) members of the club that have been issued visas to embark on the trip to Morroco in time before the Falcons quarter final game against Zambia tomorrow.
Visas have been issued to members that applied but could not proceed on the trip due to lack of funds and this is a great concern for the club

Speaking to the Chairman of the club Prince Vincent Obaseki earlier today in a phone conversation about the traveling schedule of members of the club he said all arrangement have been put in place but what is obstructing and delaying the trip is lack of funds because it costs huge amounts of money for flight tickets procurements, hotels accommodation and other expenses.
“We have our members ready for the trip those that have been issued visas but where do we get the funds to buy flight tickets for about Eighty people when there’s no sponsor and government is not providing the funds to help the club”.

” We should do for the Super Falcons what we do for Super Eagles in terms of support and we are ready to motivate the team with our drums, trumpets and songs to ensure the Super Falcons win their 10th African title but without funds available all these cannot be achieved”.
“We appeal to the National Sports Commission to come to our aid to get our members to Morroco to support the Super Falcons. The team needs our support no doubt about that and most importantly against the Zambians tomorrow and the earlier we have the funds the better for the club and the team’.

This writer also appeal to the Mallam Shehu Dikko led National Sports Commission to look into this, take necessary action and treat this as urgent. It is important we have the supporters club in the stands when the team file out tomorrow.

Okumagba tasks the Rashidat Ajibade led team not to underrate the Tunisians and put in their all to subdue whatever the Tunisians might throw at them
Speaking to journalists earlier today over the phone from his base in Canada, he emphasize on the importance of winning the first game of any major tournament which boost the morale and confidence of the team going into the remaining two group game.
“We have a team capable of defeating the Tunisians on a good day but this is the CAF AWCON therefore, they (Super Falcons) should not underrate them and believe it will be a stroll in the park”.

” Allowing complacency to set in will do the team no good hence they have to approach the game as if it’s their final game of the tournament”.
“Winning the first game and securing the three points at stake is most important for every team at any major football tournament or competition because it improve and boost the confidence and morale of the team going into the last two games of the group”.

Nigeria will begin her quest to rule Africa once again when they file out against Tunisia this evening in Casablanca, Morocco the kick off time is slated for 5 pm.

National Chairman Nigeria Football and other Sports Supporters Group, Prince Vincent Okumagba has tasks the female national soccer team of Nigeria the Super Falcons to go all out and conquer the continent when they file out against the rest of Africa’s best at this year’s edition of the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nation, WAFCON 2025 in Morocco.

The WAFCON is set to ignite the African football scene with 12 qualified nations battling it out across three formidable groups.
As fans gear up for the highly anticipated WAFCON 2025 tournament, Okumagba express his confidence in the team’s ability and praise the Justin Madugu led technical crew for picking the very best to represent the country in Morocco.
He stated that the Super Falcons still remain the team to beat as far as women’s football is concern in Africa.

Speaking to journalists in the earlier hours of today from his base in Canada Okumagba emphasize the importance of climbing back to the summit of female football in Africa having been the dominant team at that level over the years.
“They are still the team to beat in Africa considering their pedigree and achievement on the continent and at the global stage. Their dominance of CAF WAFCON has no rivalry therefore, they must put in more efforts to go a step better than their previous finishing at the biggest stage of women football.
“They (Falcons) are a team full of highly experienced and talented players so, they should go all out to confirm their supremacy at that level”
“Nigerians are behind them and have been thirsting for a 10th African title in the women’s football for quite a long while and are such praying and hoping for a better outing for the team when hostility begin in a few week’s time”
The IMC Chairman who doubles as Vice President African Football and Other Sports Supporters Association says his members will storm the Moroccan City of Casablanca in numbers to provide maximum support for the team when they confront the rest of the continent.
The tournament is scheduled to kick off on July 5, 2025, with the grand finale slated for July 26, 2025.
The 12 participating teams are: Morocco (hosts), South Africa (defending champions), Nigeria, Algeria, Botswana, DR Congo, Ghana, Mali, Senegal, Tanzania, Tunisia, and Zambia.
The tournament will open with hosts Morocco facing Zambia on July 5, 2025, at the newly built Olympic Stadium in Rabat.
The Super Falcons, a nine-time champion, will open their campaign against Tunisia at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca on July 7 before taking on Bostwana in their second game at Pere Jego Stadium on July 14 in Casablanca and round up their group fixtures against Algeria on July 19 at Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.
