2026 FIFA WCQ: CAN THE SUPER EAGLES MAKE IMPOSSIBLE POSSIBLE?

By Tolu Atobatele

The 2026 FIFA World Cup in America resumes next month (March) and Nigeria will travel to Kigali Rwanda to play the Amavubis and later welcome the Warriors of Zimbabwe in Uyo the Akwa Ibom State capital.

Nigeria sits second at the bottom of the table and needs a miracle to turn it around when the chips are down.  The Super Eagles have the potential to wrestle the ticket from the grip of their opponents  but only hard work, focus, determination, and commitment  can pave the way for the team.

The new coach Eric Sekou Chelle has a lot of work to do on the team to ensure a seamless path through the remaining qualifiers for the mundial.

Players’ invitations and selection should be purely on merit. Players who have no business in the team or are not in good shape should not be favored ahead of those who are fit.

Nigeria can rumble the jungle. The Super Eagles are capable of making it count. The team is blessed with an array of stars that can withstand any team. The path to success is rough and tough yet the Nigerian team has the tenacity and parades the best attacking players.

Expectations among avid soccer fans are high especially Nigerians who are anxiously looking forward to the Super Eagles making the impossible possible.
